Job summary

METR is seeking a System Administrator to own and optimize technical operations, improve internal processes, and support technical teams. You will manage user access across Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Tailscale, and AWS, while maintaining hardware inventory and MDM.

You’ll design scalable workflows, collaborate with users to solve problems, and develop comprehensive documentation and security monitoring processes to ensure smooth, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Linux systems, including user creation and SSH access.
• Experience configuring and managing SaaS platforms and identity providers.
• Ability to design efficient IT processes and workflows in collaboration with users.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for user support.
• Experience with Linux server administration and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own user access and permissions across multiple platforms with SCIM/SSO integration.
• Manage physical IT inventory including MacBooks and MDM implementation.
• Oversee SaaS platforms cost management and integration improvements.
• Serve as primary point of contact for technical support and build runbooks.
