Job summary

Wide Open West is seeking a hands-on System Technician to troubleshoot and repair HFC networks in the field. You’ll test signal performance, maintain critical equipment, and support outages and activations to keep homes and businesses connected.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting/repairing in HFC networks is highly preferred.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Enjoy outdoor work and staying active.
• Flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, on-call rotation).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks
• Test and optimize signal performance
• Maintain key network equipment (nodes, fiber systems, power supplies)
• Perform fiber splicing and activation
• Handle outages and support emergency restoration
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system balancing
• Identify signal leakage and ensure compliance
• Support network expansion and serviceability
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing WOW! professionally
