Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will execute the safety strategy, integrate HSIs into the product lifecycle, and drive safety analysis across IPTs.

A STEM degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience is required, along with risk assessment skills and technical writing ability. DoD security clearance is required; active clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts and safety analyses.
• Ability to create technical reports and present findings.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program and integrate HSIs into the product.
• Support the Integrated Master Schedule with system safety tasks.
• Collaborate with Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead.
• Participate in multi-IPT meetings to address safety items and issues.
• Ensure leadership understands safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
• Meet internal and external commitments and deliveries.
• Own technical solutions and coordinate across IPTs to ensure success.
