Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is hiring a System Safety Engineer II for the System Safety/HSI department. This is an onsite role in Tucson, requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

You will execute safety strategies, integrate system safety into the IMS, and collaborate across IPTs to ensure hazard mitigation and successful product development for defense programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts is required.
• Experience creating technical reports, writing, and presentations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy to meet milestones with system safety features integrated into the product.
• Support the Integrated Master Schedule and safety tasks within IMS.
• Engage with Lead System Safety Engineer for guidance on execution and artifact review.
• Participate in multi-IPT program meetings to address system safety items and issues.
• Ensure leadership understands safety requirements, hazards and mitigations.
• Deliver on internal and external commitments; own technical solutions across IPTs.
