Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is hiring a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will implement the safety strategy, perform risk assessments, and produce technical reports and briefs supporting safety in all lifecycle stages.

You will collaborate with cross-functional IPTs to ensure safety requirements and mitigations are understood by leadership and integrated into the program's schedule and deliverables. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts.
• Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product.
• Assist with system and software analysis and safety program briefs.
• Support the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with safety tasks and activities.
• Engage with Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on execution and reviews.
• Support multi-IPT program meetings to consider system safety items and current issues.
• Ensure leadership understands safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
• Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the overall product development and test success.
