Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role supporting DoD programs. You will help define safety strategies, integrate system safety/HSI features into the product, and participate in customer reviews and safety analyses.

The role requires 2+ years of STEM experience, knowledge of risk assessment concepts, and strong technical reporting skills. A DoD security clearance is required or active clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts.
• Experience creating technical reports, technical writing and/or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program and integrate system safety features.
• Support the program IMS and safety tasks in the schedule.
• Engage with Lead System Safety Engineer for guidance on execution and reviews.
• Support multi-IPT meetings ensuring system safety items are considered.
• Ensure leadership understands hazards and mitigations.
• Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries).
• Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs for successful product development and test.
