Job summary

RTX is hiring a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. The job focuses on implementing DoD MIL-STD-882 safety programs, hazards assessment, and safety analyses to protect personnel and hardware across system lifecycles.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with active DoD security considerations and DoD safety standards experience preferred. RTX offers relocation eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
Experience with risk assessment concepts.
Experience creating technical reports, writing and/or presentations.

Responsibilities

Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product.
Support the program schedule and IMS safety tasks.
Engage with Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on execution and reviews.
Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure system safety items are considered and understand program issues.
Ensure leadership understands safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries).
Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution.
