Job summary

RTX is hiring a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. The candidate must hold an active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, and be a U.S. citizen.

The role focuses on integrating system safety into product development across IPTs, aligning with DoD safety standards. You will work under the System Safety/HSI team, coordinating with engineering disciplines to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement mitigations while ensuring milestones and contractual

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts.
• Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product.
• Support the program schedule and IMS safety tasks and activities.
• Engage with the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution and reviews.
• Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure system safety items are considered.
• Ensure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
• Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries).
• Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to support successful development and testing.
