Job summary

Duke Energy seeks an Engineer to serve as a System Protection and Control SME within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team. You will develop protection standards and templates for relays and automation, and support enterprise settings repositories.

The role involves hands-on testing, field commissioning, and collaboration with multiple teams. Hybrid work model; relocation assistance not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 4 years of minimum related experience; PE may substitute.
• Master's degree may be considered in lieu of the BS degree.
• Senior level requires 6 years engineering experience or 5 with PE license.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards, application guides, and statements for system protection and automation.
• Create protection settings, logic, and control templates for relays and equipment.
• Support protection and control standards related to equipment and automation.
• Act as SME for training and documentation; mentor engineers.
• Perform hands-on relay lab testing, field commissioning, and factory acceptance testing.
• Integrate sensing, control, communications into distribution protection solutions.
• Collaborate with PGO/DPAC teams and asset management stakeholders.
