Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer III or Senior Engineer to advance protection and control standards for relays, switchgear, and automation. You will develop templates and guidance within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team, collaborating with the PGO Distribution System Protection Team.

The role includes hands-on testing in relay labs, field commissioning, and contributing to enterprise standards and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of related engineering experience; PE optional substitution.
• Master's degree may substitute for BS in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards, guides, and templates for system protection and control.
• Create protection settings, logic, and control templates.
• Support standards for protective equipment and automation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to training materials.
• Perform lab testing, field commissioning, and FAT/SAT of equipment.
