Job summary

Duke Energy seeks a System Protection, Control, Integration, and Automation SME to develop protection and control standards for distributed energy resources within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team.

The role supports safe DER integration, ride-through, grid stability, and anti-islanding concepts, with emphasis on relay settings and automation templates, plus field deployments as needed.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering from ABET-accredited program; PE license preferred
• minimum years of engineering experience as described (6+ years for Senior)
• Experience with protection & control standards for DER and grid integration
• Familiarity with relay labs, field testing, and control templates

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control standards for DER integration.
• Create standard settings, logic, and templates for protection systems.
• Test concepts in relay, field, and lab environments.
• Collaborate with DPAC ES team and internal stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and engineering guidance to peers.
