Job summary

Duke Energy in Florida is seeking an experienced System Protection, Control, Integration, and Automation SME to develop protection and control standards for DER integration within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team.

The role supports safe DER integration, relay standards, and automation device configuration, with potential field deployments and collaboration with internal stakeholders across DPAC and Asset Management.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree and 4+ years of related experience.
• Master's degree can substitute for BS.
• PE licensure in the US or state registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control standards for DER integration and point of common coupling reclosers, grounding banks, switchgear, and generation step-up transformers.
• Create protection and control standard settings, logic, and control templates.
• Support development of control and automation standards for related equipment.
• Provide SME input into training materials and documentation.
• Conduct hands-on testing in relay lab, field lab, and during factory/field acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with DPAC ES team and internal stakeholders across Asset Management and Standards groups.
• Mentor and lead peers within the engineering team.
