Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare in Austin, seeks a PRN PBX Operator to handle all incoming calls on the switchboard, route callers to the correct department, monitor alarm indicators, and page on‑call staff as needed.

You will participate in training sessions, maintain patient confidentiality, and respond to codes when required. The role requires a High School Graduate or GED; no travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle all incoming calls on the switchboard and route to the appropriate department or person.
• Monitor alarm indicators and page on‑call staff as needed.
• Page overhead and assist with locating correct locations for callers.
• Attend training sessions and employee meetings when requested.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respond to emergency codes when necessary.
• Report problems with telecommunication equipment to the Supervisor.
