Job summary

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK, seeks a dedicated switchboard operator to manage the PBX, code blue paging, and 1‑minute response workflows.

You will serve as the hospital information desk for guests after hours, relay messages, monitor alarms, and support hospital communications across departments. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of communication experience, and reliable telephone and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• One-year experience in communication work is required.
• Good telephone skills required.
• Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Answer the PBX console by the third ring.
• Page overhead and notify ICU/ER staff; coordinate labs as needed.
• Provide information service for hospital guests from 5p-9a.
• Page using I and II-way radios and the paging system.
• Respond quickly to alarms and notify proper personnel during emergencies.
• Disperse and log papers to employees for temporary use.
