Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center is seeking a Switchboard PBX Operator for PRN coverage. You will promptly answer incoming calls, place outgoing calls, and greet visitors with hospital directions, while monitoring alarms and escalating as needed.

You will handle long-distance calls, assist with extensions, help with patient mail, and support billing processes. Evening and weekend shifts are required, and health system benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of switchboard operator or customer service experience preferred.
• Medical terminology is a plus.
• Ability to work weekday nights with rotating weekend day shifts 7am–7pm.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answer all incoming calls and assist in placing outgoing calls.
• Greet hospital visitors and provide accurate directions; respond to alarms and notify appropriate personnel.
• Answer visitor questions and route calls; assist with billing and extensions to outside lines.
• Process patient mail/flowers with volunteer staff support.
