The YMCA of NorthWest North Carolina is seeking a Swim Lesson Instructor to deliver private and group swimming instruction in line with YMCA guidelines, focusing on water safety and stroke techniques for students of all ages. The role involves managing class engagement, tracking progress, and fostering positive relationships with participants and families.

Responsibilities include supervising aides, maintaining records, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Comprehensive knowledge of swimming fundamentals and water safety, and proper execution of all strokes across ages.
• Strong organizational, verbal, written, and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Instruct private or group swimming lessons using prepared lesson plans to teach water safety and stroke mechanics.
• Build authentic relationships with students and parents, communicate schedules, encourage parent involvement, and refer families to YMCA programs.
• Maintain accurate records, including class attendance logs and student progress evaluations.
• Set up and organize lesson equipment before class, return supplies after sessions, and report damaged items promptly.
• Enforce pool rules and YMCA emergency procedures; complete incident and accident reports as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
