Job summary

Young Men's Christian Association of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a Swim Lesson Instructor to deliver private and group swimming lessons following YMCA guidelines and water-safety standards. You will manage class engagement, track progress, and foster positive relationships with students and families.

The role requires 16+ years old, completion of YMCA Swim Instructor Certification within 90 days, and current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; YMCA Swim Instructor Certification within 90 days of hire.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct private or group swimming lessons using lesson plans to teach water safety and stroke mechanics.
• Build relationships with students and parents, communicate schedules, and refer families to YMCA programs.
• Maintain class attendance logs and track student progress.
• Set up equipment, store supplies, and report damages.
• Enforce pool rules and emergency procedures; complete incident reports as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
