Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Construction Project Manager in Tempe, AZ to lead the management of building projects, ensuring on-time delivery and profitability. You will coordinate with customers and subcontractors, develop project execution plans, and monitor budgets and schedules throughout the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and strong communication as you collaborate with sales during audits and with delivery teams to optimize vendor and partner selections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of PM experience in building construction.
• Experience with HVAC controls, BAS, Fire and Security management systems is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel as required by project assignments.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Self-performs sales support activities early in the audit process for vendor/partners selection and value engineering.
• Self-performs cost estimating, project scheduling and construction management of assigned projects.
• Reviews budgets and scopes, providing feedback and approvals for all booked costs.
• Manages profitable execution, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and within-scope project delivery.
• Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow for assigned projects.
• Plans, schedules, and controls project activities with broad knowledge of contracts and financial acumen.
• Provides monthly reporting of project financial status and participates in backlog reviews.
• Escalates issues per DOA and communicates problems/solutions to the Delivery Manager.
• Develops and maintains customer and subcontractor relationships throughout the life of the project.
• Ensures compliance with safety programs and aligns with ethical standards.
