Volkert is seeking a Survey Lead to support our Southeast Region in Florida. This role provides supervision of survey staff in land surveys and deliverables, with accountability for the department's success including winning work, budgets, quality, and schedules.

You will build a team, manage client relations, coordinate subcontractors, implement QA/QC, develop proposals, and ensure safety compliance. Florida licensure and FDOT experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (Florida) required.
• 8–10 years of FDOT survey experience.
• Desire to obtain licensure in additional states.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Judgment and decision‑making abilities.
• Complex problem solving and strong organizational skills.
• Safety oriented and able to pass pre‑employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Build a team and client relations for the Southeast Region.
• Bring in work and manage team and project budgets.
• Lead survey team to meet schedules and production expectations.
• Coordinate and manage outside survey subcontractors.
• Implement QA/QC practices for final deliverables.
• Develop fees, write and review proposals.
• Ensure compliance with company safety regulations.
