Job summary

Volkert Inc. seeks an experienced Survey Lead to support its Southeast Region in Florida. The role involves supervising survey staff, delivering quality survey deliverables, and managing budgets and schedules to ensure department success.

Qualified candidates will hold a Florida-registered PLS with 8–10 years of FDOT survey experience and show strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills. A pre-employment drug screen and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (Registered in Florida).
• 8-10 years of FDOT survey experience.
• Desire and ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Judgment and decision-making skills.
• Complex problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Safety oriented.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening; Volkert adheres to federal guidelines; may include testing for substances.
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Build a team and client relations.
• Bring in work and manage team and project budgets.
• Lead the survey team to meet schedules, client requests, and production expectations.
• Coordinate and manage outside survey subcontractors.
• Implement QA/QC practices for final survey deliverables.
• Develop fees and write and review proposals.
• Ensure compliance with company safety regulations.
