Job summary

Fishbeck in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Survey Internship - Summer 2027 to support our Surveying team in evaluating and designing water and wastewater projects. You will observe project conditions firsthand during site visits and collaborate with engineers across multiple offices.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program, with experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation in land development.
• Able to learn basic design concepts and calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel occasionally, long hours, and weekends.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Working with our Surveying team, you willassist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
