Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Survey Intern for Summer 2027 in Dayton, OH. You will assist with evaluations and design of water and wastewater projects, analyze data, and help prepare technical reports.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices and participate in site visits to observe project conditions firsthand. The role requires enrollment in a relevant engineering program, proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil/MicroStation, GPS awareness, and strong Office skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation in land development.
• Able to learn basic design concepts and calculations.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Working with our Surveying team, you willassist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
