Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber seeks a Survey Internship for Summer 2027 in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time internship provides hands-on exposure to surveying and civil infrastructure within a 100% employee-owned firm.

You will assist with evaluations and design of water and wastewater projects, analyze data, and help prepare technical reports. You’ll collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across offices, and participate in site visits and client meetings to observe conditions

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• Possess valid driver's license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Survey Internship - Summer 2027

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Full-Time Internship

Working with our Surveying team, you will assist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You'll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver's license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
