Job summary

Fishbeck invites a Survey Intern to join our regional Michigan offices for a hands-on summer experience. You will assist with evaluations and design of water and wastewater projects, gaining exposure to professional practice and client interactions.

You'll work with our Surveying team across multiple offices, participate in site visits, and build skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and MS Office while supporting engineers and survey professionals.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
• Able to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• Valid driver's license; willing to travel occasionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Survey Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Regional Michigan offices

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Surveying team, you will assist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
