Job summary

Fishbeck's Regional Indiana offices are seeking a Survey Intern for Summer 2027 to assist with evaluations and design of water/wastewater projects. You will work with our Surveying team, gaining hands-on experience in an employee-owned firm.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering programs, with CAD exposure and a willingness to travel. Hybrid schedule options may apply in the Indianapolis or Terre Haute markets.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in one of the listed engineering/survey programs.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D/MicroStation).
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and calculations.
• Willing to travel occasionally and work long hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

Survey Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Regional Indiana offices

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Surveying team, you will assist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
