Job summary

Fairmount Park, Inc. is seeking a security professional to monitor gaming areas, racing areas, and surrounding property, ensuring safety and asset protection. The role involves documenting incidents, coordinating with law enforcement, and supporting investigations as needed.

You will need strong communication skills, the ability to analyze documents, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior gaming industry exposure is preferred, and a HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Gaming industry experience preferred.
• Ability to identify color (casino tokens).
• Basic math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• High school diploma or GED, some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all areas of the property for safety and security risks and report them.
• Utilize equipment to identify and document illegal or suspicious activity.
• Maintain knowledge of gaming regulations and ensure adherence.
• Protect casino assets and gaming integrity.
• Participate in confidential investigations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
• Complete daily reports and testify in court when required.
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About Us

Job Description: Responsible for maintaining close, continuous surveillance of all gaming areas, racing areas and the surrounding property to secure safety and property assets.

Essential Job Functions

• Always monitor all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution
• Utilizes necessary equipment, to identify, record, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities occurring on property
• Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the New York State Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence
• Protects casino assets and gaming integrity
• Participate in confidential internal and external investigations
• Conducts research on subpoena requests from State and Federal Authority
• Completes daily reports
• Coordinates with Law Enforcement on matters pertaining to all criminal activity observed
• Testify in court when necessary
• Makes suggestions and recommendations with regard to possible changes in policies and procedures of other departments with the protection of casino and race track assets in mind
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• All other duties as assigned

Physical and Mental Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to control surveillance tools.
• Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to sit in confined spaces for extended periods of time
• Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
• Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
• Exposure to climate environments

Base Pay Range

19.00 This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as: qualifications, experience level, and skillset.
