Mercyhealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons in the operating room across varied shifts. The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and maintaining patient safety throughout procedures in a dynamic hospital setting.

You will scrub, gown, glove, and set up sterile fields, while supporting pre- and post-operative activities and mentoring new staff. Join a team focused on high-quality patient care.

Competenze

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• LPN grandfathered option at Rockford campus in lieu of Surgical Technology program.

Mansioni

• Maintain sterile field and handle instruments during procedures.
• Prepare sterile table and assist surgeon, scrubbing as needed.
• Assist with patient placement, positioning, and draping.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments prior to incision.
• Assist in room setup, cleaning, and preparing for the next case.
• Mentor new employees and students; support education and certification goals.
