Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons by preparing and maintaining a sterile operating room, passing instruments, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and surgical procedures, with on-call shifts and a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, gowning, passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the team before, during, and after surgeries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA; CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures and ensures sterility.
• Scrubs, gowns, gloves, and sets up sterile table for each procedure.
• Passes instruments to surgeon and maintains sterile field throughout the operation.
• Assists with positioning the patient and preparing dressings post-op.
