Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves handling surgical instruments, coordinating perioperative care with colleagues, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality in alignment with Mercy Service Standards.

Qualified candidates include high school graduates, with BLS certification, and preferred postsecondary training in Surgical Technology. Non-licensed candidates may be considered depending on location and experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensure: Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered.
• Experience: 24-Hour-Opportunity locations; may consider non-certified candidates with applicable surgical technologist experience.
• Certifications: BLS required.
• English: Must understand English written and spoken.
• Preferred Education: Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• Preferred Licensure-Certification: Surgical Technology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.
• Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.
• Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality.
