Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and maintain a sterile operating room environment. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, patient safety, and the ability to adapt to varying surgeon preferences.

Schedule includes variable shifts and on-call coverage. The candidate will scrub, gown, and glove, prepare sterile tables, and support the surgical team throughout procedures while ensuring meticulous counts and patient care standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• LPN grandfathered in lieu of Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment and maintains sterile field.
• Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery.
• Checks instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, and medications/solutions.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping according to procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains sterile technique and passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
