Qualifications

• Associate degree or Vocational Certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• One year perioperative or operating room experience preferred.
• Must be certified by CST/NBSTSA/TS-C or NCCT, per location requirements.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person, assembling supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Prepares sterile supplies, performs surgical counts with circulator RN per policy.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique; assists with draping and instrument delivery.
• Retrieves and labels specimens; communicates implants, catheters and drains to circulator.
• Prepares, cleans, and assists with pre/post-procedure room setup and turnover.
• Participates in ongoing education, competency checks and cost-conscious resource use.
