Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to scrub on operative procedures, assist the surgeon and nursing team, and ensure instrument availability and sterile technique throughout cases.

The role requires CPR, surgical technology certification within one year of hire, and a Vocational/Technical degree in Surgical Technology. Shifts are 8-hour with rotating 1st/2nd/3rd shifts and on-call within 30 minutes of request.

Qualifications

• CPR - American Heart Association (required)
• Surgical Technology Certification (preferred) - required within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions of surgical tech under direct supervision of physician and/or surgical resident in the operating room.
• Inserts Foley catheters as ordered and performs pre-operative skin prep.
• Scrub, gown and glove; set up sterile table with instruments and supplies.
• Maintains sterile technique and assists in room turnover.
• Capable of scrubbing on multiple procedures and ensuring equipment readiness.
