Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. The role supports the scrubbed and circulating roles, ensuring sterile technique and efficient instrument readiness under RN supervision.

The ideal candidate demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, and uses basic electronics, chemistry, and robotics knowledge to support patient care during procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certificate in Surgical Technology or related field.
• Proficiency in sterile technique and perioperative patient care.
• Ability to scrub and assist in basic surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, meds, and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and aseptic technique.
• Assists with supplies, equipment, and instrument readiness for procedures.
• Communicates with nursing staff and collaborates with OR team and surgeons.
• Documents patient data and orders accurately and timely.
• Supports patient transport and daily living activities as needed.
• Participates in unit performance standards and quality control.
