Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as the first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under RN supervision. The role emphasizes asepsis, instrument readiness, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff.

Qualified candidates have an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology certificate, and BLS within 30 days. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology certificate completion required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and supports the OR team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis throughout procedures.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment for efficient department operations.
• Communicate with nursing staff and act as liaison between units.
• Document patient data and orders accurately in unit records.
• Schedule and prepare patients for tests, consultations, and transfers.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation of trays and instrumentation.
