Advocate Health seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist for the Lake Norman maternity unit. This part-time role supports the RN circulator, maintains aseptic technique, and assists with pre-op, intra-op, and post-op tasks in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The position emphasizes room turnover, instrument handling, and adherence to department policies, with ongoing learning and involvement in performance improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or successful military training in Surgical Technology; 2 years of operating room experience as a surgical technologist required.
• Current certification through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred.
• Meets all ST II qualifications of Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique and prepares/organizes supplies and instruments.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep and room turnover.
• Performs duties per department policy and ensures proper specimen handling.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and ensures proper documentation of charges.
• Participates in in-services, performance improvement, and educational opportunities.
