Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist for Atrium Lake Norman - Nursing. The role supports the RN circulator, prepares patient and supplies, and assists with room turnover and specimen handling during 12-hour shifts on a 6-week cycle.

Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, ability to lift, and adherence to safety and performance improvement processes are essential. Requires HS diploma, BLS, and OR experience; certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• 2 years operating room experience in surgical technologist role.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the patient, supplies, and instruments for procedures.
• Aids the RN circulator and assists with room turnover and specimen handling.
• Maintains aseptic technique and documents sterilization activities.
• Participates in staff education, policy development, and performance improvement.
