Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Charlotte, NC seeks a skilled Surgical Technician to join the Maternity OR team. The role supports the Registered Nurse circulator, prepares patients, assembles instruments, and maintains sterile supplies throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include room turnover, equipment handling, and adherence to departmental policies. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for surgical tech role.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military OR training.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of patient before surgery and in repairs of sterile instruments.
• Assist RN circulator with room setup, instrument assembly, and specimen handling.
• Support turnover of OR and ensure sterility of supplies.
• Follow department policies and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, and standards development.
