Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to support maternity and surgical services in Matthews, NC. You will assist in the operating room with aseptic technique, prepare instruments, and help maintain a sterile field.

The role requires lifting up to 35 pounds, flexibility for variable shifts, and current BLS certification. This position offers exposure to a busy surgical workflow and opportunities to contribute to patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during, and after surgery.
• Assist RN circulator with patient preparation, instrument assembly and specimen handling; help room turnover.
• Perform duties per department policy and procedure and document charges accurately.
• Monitor sterilization activities and participate in Performance Improvement efforts.
