Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a non-certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team during day shifts in the United States. The role involves preparing the operative suite, assisting with instrumental setup, and maintaining sterile technique to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow.

Under supervision of the registered nurse, you will support a range of moderate to high-acuity cases, mentor students as needed, and participate in performance improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skill and ability to perform duties within moderate to high acuity surgical cases.
• Ability to mentor or train students and new employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operative suite and sterile field to ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Scrub, gown, and glove; assist surgeon and team during the procedure.
• Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
• Assist in draping sterile field and passing instruments to the surgeon.
• Assist in post-procedure cleanup, room turnover, and handling of specimens.
