Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist Non-Certified to support the surgical team during day shifts in the United States. You will assist the health care team, prepare the operative suite, and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and staff to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, passing instruments, preparing cases, and participating in performance improvement initiatives. Call or late coverage may be required; flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a surgical technology program preferred.
• Capable of operating in moderate to high acuity surgical cases with guidance.
• Ability to mentor or training when needed as per the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operative suite and sterile field for procedures.
• Set up sterile table with instruments and supplies; review preference cards.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and maintain the sterile back table.
• Assist with room setup, turnover, and equipment for future cases.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and safety standards.
