Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operative team during day shift in our United States facilities. You will prepare the operative suite, assist in sterile technique, pass instruments, and help maintain patient safety and efficient case flow under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The role requires a certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology, National credentialing, and strong teamwork, communication, and multi‑tasking abilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• National certification required (e.g., CST/Tech in Surgery).
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Assists with room setup and sterile field preparation.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments and medications for procedures.
• Passes instruments to surgeon during the procedure.
• Maintains sterile technique and accurate instrument counts.
• Mentors or trains students and new staff as needed.
