Job summary

Live Well Homecare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams in the operating room. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, instrument handling, and adherence to safety protocols.

You will assist with room setup, connect clinical equipment, participate in timeouts, handle specimens, and manage post-procedure cleanup while ensuring patient safety and compliance with policies. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• CST or eligible under applicable laws with specialty training.
• Solid aseptic technique, familiarity with surgical procedures and universal precautions.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate clearly, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and connect clinical equipment to maintain sterile fields.
• Support surgeons, participate in timeouts, and verify counts of supplies.
• Assist with wound care, specimen handling, and disposal of sharps/liens.
• Perform specimen collection, patient transport, and post-mortem care as needed.
• Maintain documentation, follow policies, and engage in quality control.
• Act as a preceptor for students and participate in on-call rotations and billing processes.
