Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. The role supports aseptic prep, instrument handling, and patient positioning to maintain a safe, sterile environment for surgeries.

Shift is a 10-hour DAY schedule (0730 - 1800) with rotating days off. On-call duties, weekend and holiday coverage are shared among staff, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques for varied procedures.
• Familiarity with OR equipment and patient care routines.
• BLS certification within 6 months if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe OR by preparing materials and ensuring sterile fields.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supporting positioning.
• Set up tables, drapes, and monitor equipment used during cases.
• Transport supplies and notify staff of equipment issues.
• Adhere to age-specific care guidelines and department policies.
