Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a surgical technologist to support operating room teams under surgeon/ nursing supervision. The role focuses on preparing and maintaining equipment, assisting in sterile setup, and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout procedures.

Qualified candidates have an accredited surgical technologist program, certification and BLS, and at least 2 years of OR experience. This is a full-time on-site role with exposure to varied surgical cases.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical technologist program.
• Certification and BLS required.
• At least 2 years' OR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room by setting up the sterile field and ensuring sterile instruments, drapes, and solutions.
• Follow state and federal regulations when attending to patients.
• Perform pre-procedure skin and body preparations.
• Complete safety checks on equipment and supplies before procedures.
• Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment and verify proper operation.
• Assist with patient prep and positioning as needed.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants.
• Retract and cut sutures under physician supervision.
• Participate in counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Assist with specimen preparation and disposition.
• Transfer patient from procedure bed to stretcher post-procedure.
• Clean and restock the procedure room and pull supplies for upcoming procedures.
• Assist with inventory management and physician preference cards.
• Contribute to sterilization and high-level disinfection quality testing.
