Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team during operating room procedures. You will prepare sterile fields, assist with procedures, and ensure instruments and supplies are properly managed.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, infection prevention, and the ability to work closely with surgeons and nurses to deliver safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Surgical technology training or equivalent.
• Associate degree or technical program completion required.
• 0–2 years OR related OR operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical cases and ensure availability of instruments and supplies.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments efficiently and anticipating needs.
• Sterilize, inspect, and assemble instruments; perform counts for patient safety.
• Clean, reprocess, and sterilize equipment following protocols; restock supplies.
