Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the surgeon and perioperative team in delivering high-quality patient care during procedures. You will prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, and maintain instrumentation according to infection control standards.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic techniques, good teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure patient safety and efficient operating room performance.

Qualifications

• Technical school graduate in Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing is required.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences is required.
• 0-2 years OR operating room surgical technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for procedures with proper aseptic technique.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Handles and sterilizes instruments, ensures counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfers for safety and comfort.
• Maintains physician preference cards and restocks supplies for procedures.
• Cleans, reprocesses, and sterilizes instruments following protocols.
• Contributes to perioperative team efficiency by restocking and organizing ORs.
