Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to collaborate with the surgeon and perioperative team to provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.

The role prepares and maintains sterile fields, assists with procedures, and ensures instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and available. The technician adheres to infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies to support optimal patient outcomes and maintain efficiency in

Competenze

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required or
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required

Mansioni

• Prepares and maintains operating room for surgical cases with proper aseptic technique.
• Assists surgical team by anticipating needs and passing instruments accurately.
• Handles instruments per instructions for use; ensures sterilization, inspection and assembly.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfer methods.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures supplies for procedures.
• Cleans, reprocesses, and sterilizes instruments per established protocols.
• Restocks supplies and returns equipment to storage to keep OR ready for next cases.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
