Qualifications

• Technical School/Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program completed.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience preferred or required (as stated).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical cases with aseptic technique.
• Assist surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handle surgical instruments with proper sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
• Perform instrument counts with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
• Assist in patient positioning and draping for procedures.
• Maintain physician preference cards ensuring correct supplies and instruments are available.
• Reprocess and sterilize instruments per established protocols.
• Restock supplies and ensure rooms are ready for subsequent cases.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
