Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub on all procedures in the OR and assist physicians under the direction of a licensed nurse. The role supports the circulating RN as a secondary circulator and contributes to patient safety using proper aseptic technique.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS; graduation from NBSTSA-accredited program with certification required on hire. Preferred one to two years of orthopedic OR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BLS required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required upon hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of OR surgical technologist experience in a large, complex OR; NYU Langone Health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas.
• Under the supervision of the circulating RN, assist as a secondary circulator.
• Anticipate and prepare supplies/equipment per procedure card; ensure aseptic technique; report any issues to RN staff/leadership.
