Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital at NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub on all procedures in the Operating Room under RN supervision, supporting physicians and the sterile field.

The role requires a Surgical Technologist program credential with NBSTSA certification, BLS, and a high school diploma. Prior OR experience is preferred, with NYU Langone Surgical Tech program graduates favored. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association is required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required upon hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist in a large operating room.
• NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician.
• Assists with instrument and supply preparation per procedure cards.
• Reports events and outcomes to RN staff/leadership in a timely fashion.
• Contributes to quality and performance improvement programs and patient safety.
• On‑call coverage as applicable.
